ModernSofa is the consumer-facing brand of Cal-Moda Industries, a family-owned, Los Angeles-based manufacturer that has been crafting handcrafted upholstered furniture for over 30 years. Founded by Los Angeles natives Jack and Jamil Barton, Cal-Moda has become a trusted source for the interior design trade, renowned for its commitment to quality, meticulous detail, and timeless craftsmanship. Our pieces grace high-end homes, luxury hotels, private clubs, and film and television sets across the country, embodying sophistication and enduring style.
Design veterans Alan and Louise Fisch, a husband-and-wife team, lead our showroom experience, thoughtfully curating accessories for our showroom floor and website. Their year-round curation ensures fresh, inspiring collections, so check back often to discover what’s new. They are also spearheading the development of our second showroom in South Florida, expanding our signature style and personalized service to an international audience.
ModernSofa showcases Cal-Moda’s signature modular seating collections, complemented by a curated selection of accessories from top global makers, each chosen to elevate our designs. Every piece is meticulously upholstered in our Los Angeles workshop, located adjacent to our exclusive 2,200 sq. ft. showroom, open by appointment only.
